Strategy Intern

 

  1. Purpose

Develop a coherent longer-term plan and work on corporate development opportunities. Help transform the TAP´s strategy into deliverable initiatives and align these with its growth and profitability objectives. 

 

  1. Scope

Integral member of the Group Strategy team which produces recommendations and proposals for TAP. Team will identify opportunities to deliver the strategy and help bring to life these initiatives.

 

  1. Accountabilities
  • Work on refining the existing longer-term plan to optimize profitability, considering strategic and economic developments of regions;
  • Help produce an up-to-date vision for the network (high-level), identifying future short list of destinations to support the network team make appropriate capacity/frequency development in the short to medium time window;
  • Evaluate opportunities for both the hub and TAP focus cities to support the next phase of TAP’s long-term development and fleet growth;
  • Work on special projects including the evaluation of deeper type of partnership, other strategic options, and specific revenue/cost initiatives;
  • Help drive and deliver the execution of some projects leading both the agenda and the key stakeholders;
  • Monitor and analyse competitor/industry trends and ensure strategy plans reflect this wider business environment; provide a comprehensive view of competitive dynamics and evolving industry trends/patterns;
  • Provide briefings and formal documentation for the C-Level and Board;
  • Help generate financial forecasts, to provide ongoing profitability outputs for senior management and key decision makers;
  • Produce specific topical reports to analyse performance, identifying improvement opportunities to enhance profitability other ways;
  • Work with a team of 2+ people, sometimes managing key projects with all functional areas within TAP;
  • Develop and maintain transparent, open and collaborative communications with other teams and departments;
  • Help train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.

 

  1. Reporting and Location
    • Reports to: Strategy Team Leader
    • Location: Lisbon

 

  1. Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (pre-Bologna) or Master's degree (post-Bologna) in Engineering, Economics, Management, Finance, or a related field;
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

 

  1. Profile
  • Strong analytical capabilities;
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills;
  • Results-oriented, with a strong focus on achieving objectives;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

 

The position is for an internship contract.
