NDC Specialist

TAP Air Portugal is the leading airline of Portugal, connecting the world to and from Lisbon and beyond. As a pioneer in adopting IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC), TAP is committed to delivering innovative, customer-focused solutions to our travel partners worldwide.

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and technically minded professional to lead the onboarding, implementation, and ongoing management of our NDC partners. This is a key role in strengthening our digital distribution strategy and ensuring smooth, value-driven collaboration with agencies, aggregators, and other industry stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

NDC Partner Implementation & Onboarding

  • Scope and lead the technical and operational onboarding of new NDC partners.
  • Design, maintain, and execute the Partner Onboarding Process, ensuring timely and smooth integration.
  • Coordinate and be responsible for configuring the project in collaboration with internal IT, commercial, and operations teams

Partner Certification & Quality Assurance

  • Lead the NDC Partner Certification process, ensuring compliance with TAP and IATA standards.
  • Manage and monitor partner performance, addressing technical or process-related issues proactively.

Technical Account Management

  • Act as the primary Technical Account Manager for NDC partners, maintaining strong relationships, driving NDC adoption and ensuring high satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary subject-matter expert and point of contact for all technical, operational, and functional NDC related queries

Communication & Support

  • Manage communications to travel agencies via TAP’s dedicated partner platform.
  • Respond to queries and issues through the NDC Help Center, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Support the operation as a cross-functional resource collaborating with IT, Sales, Operations, Marketing, and external stakeholders on NDC topics.

Industry Standards & Compliance

  • Maintain TAP’s IATA NDC Certification status, coordinating updates and renewals.
  • Ensure adherence to NDC schema releases and industry best practices.

 Product Development & Innovation

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of TAP’s NDC product offering.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, new functionalities, and improved user experience.

 


Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation, IT, or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in airline distribution, travel technology, or similar environment.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of airline distribution models and NDC standards.
  • Familiarity with XML, JSON, API integrations, and airline reservation systems is a plus.
  • An understanding of airline reservation systems (e.g. Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport), online travel agencies (OTAs), and aggregator platforms, including how they interact with NDC channels.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, particularly Jira.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Fluency in English
