Declaration of Privacy
In order to select and recruit staff, TAP Air Portugal needs to collect some personal data.
TAP Air Portugal is committed to protecting the security and privacy of your personal data. In this context, TAP Air Portugal has prepared this Privacy Statement, in order to affirm its commitment and respect for personal data privacy and protection rules.
1. DATA CONTROLLER
The references in this Statement to TAP, "us" or "our" mean TAP Air Portugal (a company registered in Portugal, headquartered at the Lisbon Airport, Building 25, with NCPI 500 278 725) that determines the purposes and means of data processing, and for this purpose it is considered the entity responsible for data processing, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
2. PERSONAL DATA
Personal data means any information of any nature and regardless of its support, including sound and image, relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject). Any person who can be identified directly or indirectly, namely by reference to an identification number or to more specific elements of his or her physical, physiological, psychic, economic, cultural or social identity, shall be considered identifiable.
TAP Air Portugal collects the following personal data categories (provided by you during the recruitment process, or collected by third parties with legitimacy for the purpose, namely entities in the personnel recruitment and selection area): i) identification data, such as your name, nationality, passport or ID card details, date of birth, NIF/Tax ID and NISS (social security number); (ii) contact details, such as your address, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses; (iii) status of residence permit / work visa and data relating to the immigration process (where applicable); (iv) data contained in your curriculum vitae, namely: employment history, academic qualifications, professional and academic certificates, references and letters of recommendation.
In the selection and recruitment process, we may collect information that may reveal your racial or ethnic origin (for example, when you tell us your nationality or if you include a picture in your CV). Such information is considered special categories of data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. We only collect this information if it is in the public domain, if you gave us your explicit consent or if it is necessary due to a legal obligation imposed on TAP Air Portugal. In cases where it is permitted by law and appropriate for the job to be carried out by the candidate, we also collect data on criminal convictions or offenses (for example, a copy of your criminal record).
3. PURPOSES OF PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
TAP Air Portugal, as responsible for data processing, processes the personal data described in point 2. above, in accordance with the applicable legislation, for:
• pre-contractual arrangements at the request of the data subject (recruitment and selection);
• compliance with legal obligations to which TAP Air Portugal is subject;
• pursuit of TAP Air Portugal's legitimate interests (namely, in the statement, exercise or defense of a right in court proceedings).
4. DATA STORAGE
The personal data collected is processed in strict compliance with the applicable legislation and is stored in a specific database created for this purpose. The length of time during which the data is stored and retained varies according to the purpose for which the information is used. There are, however, legal requirements that require you to keep the data for a certain period of time. In recruitment, your personal data must be kept for five years from the date of registration in our database. However, where there is no specific legal requirement, the data will be stored and retained only for the period necessary for the purposes for which they were collected, as identified above.
5. DATA TRANSFER
For the purposes of fulfilling the purposes defined in the preceding paragraphs, TAP Air Portugal may transfer your data to subcontractors for the above purposes, such as consulting companies, professional training, building managers or access control companies, information system companies and IT platforms, under the terms of the contracts signed with them, as well as to other companies of the TAP Air Portugal Group. In any case, TAP Air Portugal undertakes to adopt the appropriate security measures to ensure the confidentiality and protection of your data, in accordance with the applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
If you do not intend to do it autonomously in the Portal, under the terms of the applicable law, the data subject may request, at any time, access to own personal data, as well as correction, erasure or limitation of personal data, portability of personal data, or to object data collection by means of a request sent, by registered mail, to:

You can obtain confirmation of which personal data concerning you are processed and accessed. If required, TAP Air Portugal will make available to you a copy of the data processed. In accordance with the law, you are also guaranteed the right, through the above means, to withdraw your consent for the processing of data; the consent constitutes the basis of legitimacy of the respective processing, at any time, however, it does not invalidate processing carried out up to that date based on prior informed consent. You may also request at any time the erasure of your personal data, in accordance with the terms and limitations legally provided for, as well as the limitation of the processing or portability of your data, subject to the legal conditions. For this, you must submit a request to the above-mentioned contacts.
Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial review, the data subject is entitled to lodge a complaint with the CNPD or other competent supervisory authority in accordance with the law if he/she considers that his/her data is not subject to legitimate processing by TAP Air Portugal, in accordance with the applicable legislation and this Statement.
7. SECURITY MEASURES
TAP Air Portugal is committed to ensuring the confidentiality, protection and security of your personal data by implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect against any form of undue or unlawful processing and against any accidental loss or destruction of this data. To this end, we have systems and teams ready to guarantee the security of personal data processed, creation and updating procedures to prevent unauthorized access, accidental loss and / or destruction of personal data, while complying with the legislation on personal data protection and to process such data only for the purposes for which it was collected, as well as to ensure that such data is processed with adequate levels of security and confidentiality. In this context, TAP Air Portugal has also appointed a Data Protection Officer ("DPO") to monitor compliance with applicable policies and standards on personal data protection.
